November 11 and 12: Mickey Depre

Mickey’s quilts have been described as whirlwinds of color, with oranges, residing next to purples of all shades in harmony. Dots, swirls, and stripes intermingle with florals and prints in an outlandish yet exciting visual parade.
Her work mixes traditional quilting techniques with bold, innovative machine applique and thread work. Fabric choices include her own hand dyed cotton with commercial cottons for a special spark of color and depth.

At the Sunday workshop, Mickey will be teaching her Summer Carnival quilt, one in her half-scrap quilt series. The workshop includes a pattern for a table runner. This is a perfect opportunity to dive into your stash!

Remember: the November meeting is at the Scripps Ranch Community Center, 11885 Cypress Canyon Road, San Diego.
And the Mickey’s workshop on Sunday is at Paradise Sewing’s new location at 13242 Poway Road, Poway.
