is simply part of our DNA

Since 2012 we have donated over 2,150 quilts to Gently Hugged, a San Diego charity that provides blankets and baby clothes to families struggling to acquire the basic necessities of life.

These quilts are from 36 to 42 inches square.

We also donate quilts, from child sized, to lap quilts for adults, for Hidden Valley House, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. These quilts provide comfort for those going through a major and trying transition in their lives.

Our members are also active with local chapters of Quilts of Valor, creating hand made quilts to comfort veterans who have been touched by war.

Our members contribute by making an entire quilt or by doing one of the steps in creating a quilt: piecing, quilting or binding. Kits are available or you can use up fabric from your stash. Contributions of fabric and batting are also gratefully appreciated.

One meeting each year is devoted to creating charity quilts.
